The second annual Indigenous History and Heritage Gathering

Join us June 2-4 for the second annual Indigenous History & Heritage Gathering in Ottawa, hosted in collaboration with National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and the First Nations Confederacy of Cultural Education Centres.

At the gathering, we invite you to listen, learn, and share stories that have shaped Indigenous communities throughout history. The gathering will explore four streams:

Residential and Day Schools
Preserving Language and Culture
Sharing Stories
Land Back

Tanya Talaga, an award-winning journalist and bestselling author, will return to the stage, this time with Connie Walker and Alanis Obomsawin for the “Storytellers in Dialogue” keynote panel. We are also thrilled to welcome Dr. Wilton Littlechild, a trailblazer in Indigenous rights and reconciliation, and Kimberley Murray, an Independent Special Interlocutor for Missing Children and Unmarked Graves and Burial Sites, as keynote speakers.
