Know History worked on an exciting project to share the rich history of Rankin Inlet through archival research and historical imagery.

This project spotlights significant cultural elements, such as dogsledding and the contributions of John Hickes. Hickes is known for his extensive work in advocating for Inuit rights and preserving their cultural heritage. As a respected elder, Hickes has played a crucial role in sharing traditional knowledge, especially relating to dogsledding, a vital aspect of Inuit life and history. Our team managed image copyrights, securing high-resolution copies, and overseeing the entire printing process. The aim was to preserve and share this special history with guests at the Nanuq Lodge, known for its warm hospitality in the Arctic region. Know History oversaw all aspects of research, writing, design, and the creation of beautiful final archival prints. This initiative ensures that the vibrant heritage of Rankin Inlet is proudly showcased and accessible to all who visit.
