Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation

‘Debwewin’ refers to one of the Anishinabek seven grandfathers’ teaching for “truth.” The Debwewin Project shares truths about the history of Treaty 14 and Treaty 22, which cover the contemporary city of Oakville. Know History worked closely with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Oakville Community Foundation, and the Oakville Museum to create twinned mobile exhibits that travel to community events and public spaces to share this vibrant, important, and often misunderstood history.
